Vahrzaw are a band from Australia that plays a raw mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of t heir 2014 album "Twin Suns & Wolf Tongues" which was re-issued in 2016 by Blood Harvest Records.
A very heavy sound starts off the album along with some melodic riffing and the solos and leads also use a decent amount of melody and after awhile black metal screams make their presence known on the recording along with some elements of death and thrash metal and the faster sections also use a good amount of blast beats.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the tremolo picking also gives the music more of a raw black metal feeling and death metal growls can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and the music also brings in a lot of 90's influences while also sounding very modern at the same time and the whole album also remains very heavy from beginning to ending of the recording and the music also brings in a touch of war metal.
Vahrzaw plays a musical style that takes the heaviest elements of black and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of t heir own, the production sounds very raw yet heavy at the same time while the lyrics cover Anti Religion, hate and Experience themes.
In my opinion Vahrzaw are a very great sounding mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "On The Shoulders Of Giants" "Twin Sons And Wolf Tongues" and "Nihil Obstat". 8 out of 10.
