Lugburz are a band from Poland that plays a very raw, melodic, atmospheric and misanthropic form of occult black metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Pure Misanthropy Of Death" which was released as a joint effort between Satanath Records and Dark East Productions.
A very fast, and raw black metal sound starts off the album along with some blast beats, grim screams and atmospheric synths a few seconds later as well as a small amount of growls and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid and fast parts.
You can hear a lot of melody in both the riffs and leads while the solos also bring in an old school extreme metal feeling at times and the music also brings back the 90's atmospheric European style with the synths and some of the riffs also add in a touch of death metal influences as well as a touch of thrash and the last track also brings in a small amount of clean playing and semi melodic vocals.
Lugburz plays a style of black metal that brings back the 90's synth style while also being very raw and melodic at the same time, the production sounds very powerful while the lyrics cover Left Hand Path, Satanism and Dark Nature themes.
In my opinion Lugburz are a very great sounding raw, melodic and atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Blades Of Maelstrom" "The Devil's Anthem" and "Eternally Lifeless". 8 out of 10.
