Nihilistic Legion are a solo project from Israel that plays a mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of his self released 2015 ep "The Hunt".
A very distorted and heavy guitar riff starts off the ep along with some drum beats a few seconds later that also have a tribal feeling to them which also leads up to more of a black metal direction along with some melodic guitar leads and on the second track the music starts to speed up and death metal growls are added into the music.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats are utilized along with some raw black metal elements and high pitched screams and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the tracks remain true to a very heavy blackened death metal direction with no soft parts ever being utilized.
Nihilistic Legion plays a musical direction that takes a very fast and melodic style of black metal that is also very heavily influenced by death metal, the production sounds very powerful for a self released recording while the lyrics cover Occultism and Anti Religion themes.
In my opinion Nihilistic Legion are a very great mixture of black and death metal, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Destroying The Temples Of The Gods" and "Sons Of Lies". 8 out of 10.
