Alkmorhilyion/Emptied/Glossolalia Records/2012 EP Review

Alkmorhilyion  where  a  band  from  Springfield,  Oregon  that  played  a  hybrid  of  raw  and  primitive   black  metal  and  harsh  noise  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  ep  "Emptied"  which  was  released  by  Glossolalia  Records.

Drum  programming  ranges  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  beats  along  with  some  brutal  sounding  programmed  blast  beats,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars,  as  for  the  sound  effects  they  bring  elements  of  harsh  noise  to  the  ep.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  raw  and  primitive  sounding  while  also  adding  in  heavy  distortion,  harsh  noise  and  drone  elements  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals  range  from  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  to  deep  guttural  black/death  metal  growls,  while  the  lyrics  cover  literature  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  with  the  last  song  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

In  my  opinion  Alkamorhilyion  where  a  very  great  sounding  hybrid  of  raw  and  primitive  black  metal  and  harsh  noise and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Emptied  (Part  1)".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
