Merda Mundi/II-War/Noires Litanies/2008 Cassette Review

This  is  another  review  of  a  recording  from  Merda  Mundi  continuing  their raw  and  primitive  approach  to  black  metal  with  the  release  being  call  "II-War"  which  was  released  in  2008  by  Noires  Litanies.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  playing  with  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  heavy,  raw  and primitive  sounding  while  also capturing  a  dark  atmosphere,  while  the  lead  guitars  which  are  only  used  briefly  are  very  melodic  sounding  black  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads,  as  for  the  acoustic  guitars  which  are  only  used  briefly  use  finger  picking  and  full  chords  to  further  enhance  the  dark  atmosphere.

Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  and  high  pitched  black  metal screams  along  with  some  deeper  vocals  being utilized  at  times  along  with  a  brief  use  of  clean  singing  and  spoken  word  parts,  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  their  native  tongue  and  cover  dark  and  depressive  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  heavy,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  recording  from  Merda  Mundi and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  primitive  sounding  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Le  Royaume"  and  "L'  Hymne".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
