Skinned Christ/Lucifer/Inverted Cross Records/2012 EP Review

Skinned  Christ  are  a  band  from  Tennessee  that  plays    a  very  raw  and  primitive  form  of  stoner  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  ep  "Lucifer"  which  was  released  by  Inverted  Cross  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing  that  brings  a  stoner  feeling  to  the  music  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals range  from  high  pitched  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  to  deep  demonic  growls,  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  occult  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Skinned  Christ  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  primitive  stoner  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Death  Seraph"  and  "Winter  Solstice".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
